Milestones are developmental skills that most children should reach by a specific age, such as being more comfortable around new people and learning to string words together.
Staff can use Procare Learning Standards to track students’ progress. They’re fully customizable.
Milestones Learning Center strives to create a meaningful, positive, and caring atmosphere for children aged six weeks through five and a half years of age. Their child-centric curriculum, small student-to-staff ratios, and daily exposure to Music/Song, Creative Art, Fine/Gross Motor Development, and Literacy and Language Activities help meet each child’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth needs.
Milestones Childcare Center was established in North America in 1908 and remains one of the longest-running, not-for-profit agencies. Their Board of Directors comprises volunteers from the community dedicated to fulfilling Milestones’ mission while using resources wisely.
The Director of Development will actively make decisions that affect Milestones through partnerships, fundraising events, and Board-building activities. He or she will create, implement, and oversee infrastructure to increase annual budget growth through planned giving, capital campaigns, specific fundraising events, corporate and foundation support, and donor relations.
Trimble Kelly Studios collaborated closely with the owners to design a name, logo, all graphic design elements, and signage for their new daycare facility at Riverstone Medical Complex in Blue Ridge, GA. Trimble Kelly Studios selected Forbo’s EcoCreate wall-facing material, made of recycled cork blended with polymers to cover up tack holes and keep the appearance lasting for years.
At Milestones, we believe children learn best through engaging in hands-on experiences that are interactive, purposeful, and constructive. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the unique needs, interests, and culture of every student and family; teachers serve as facilitators to assist children in meeting developmental milestones through inspired learning experiences in a safe classroom setting where children feel capable and secure – teaching respect towards one another, adults, their surroundings as well as themselves with positive reinforcement techniques such as redirection or modeling for behavior management purposes.
Cognitive milestones focus on a child’s abilities to comprehend their surroundings, process information, and solve problems. An infant learning to recognize the facial expressions of caregivers or preschoolers learning the alphabet is an example of cognitive development. Social and emotional milestones include peer relationships, communication ability, and self-soothing techniques that facilitate interactions with family and caregivers.
Physical Milestones involve developing your child’s larger muscles, such as their arms, legs, back, stomach, and stomach, to control body movement and strength. Infants require regular tummy time to strengthen neck and upper body strength. Toddlers must walk, run, and play daily to hone gross motor skills.
Our Delaware, Ohio, daycare and preschool use the Lifelong Learning Curriculum, which offers a comprehensive early learning program to maximize each child’s potential in a safe, nurturing, and supportive atmosphere. Our educators are passionate and dedicated to creating a positive and memorable experience for all 6-week-old to 5 1/2-year-old children who visit us!
Our staff consists of qualified teachers dedicated to providing your child with the highest-quality care. They all share a love for children and take immense pleasure in helping them reach their developmental milestones. Our teachers come from various American, Scottish, and Canadian backgrounds – each dedicated to child-centered teaching that puts children first!
